The Hand at Fenix Arts

October 6 – November 12. 2022

The Hand Magazine and Fenix Arts invite all visual artists to a juried exhibit of alternative photography.

Work must be made in the last two years, and include analog processes as capture or print output, although digital intermediary steps may be engaged. Work may be either two or three-dimensional.

The Hand Magazine is the most recognizable publication for alternative and historic photographic processes and all types of printmaking. It encourages inspiration, education, and community for artists using unique, mixed media, experimental, and idiosyncratic reproduction-based techniques.

The juror is Adam Finkelston, publisher and co-editor of the Hand Magazine. Entrants’ work may appear in the magazine, online gallery, and be selected for exhibit at Fenix Gallery. One selected entrant will receive a two-week artists residency on Mount Sequoyah, Fayetteville AR during 2023 and be interviewed for publication in the magazine’s November 2022 issue.

Categories: Photographic drawing, applied paint, mixed media, collage, printmaking, photographically manipulated fiber arts, ceramics, sculpture, or lens-based projection (artist must be present to install).
