Les Femmes Fâchees: Angry Women

We Thought It Would Be Different by Now

Fenix Arts and Mt. Sequoyah Creative Spaces are pleased to invite your participation into an upcoming exhibition.

Call for artist’s submissions of work for upcoming exhibit in May, 2023.

The opening reception will be Thursday, May 4, from 5:30 – 8:30 in conjunction with Fayetteville’s First Thursday events. Closing date is May 28. The works will be exhibited in the Fenix Gallery as well as Sequoyah Hall.

The exhibition will focus on ideas around: challenges that women face today, female fortitude, the reality of women’s anger being a direct result of oppression and the importance of solidarity. You don’t have to identify as a woman to participate in this exhibit. We want to encourage as many different voices as possible and we will be organizing programming during the month of the exhibit.

Please send images with title, media, size, and price (if for sale) information along with a brief bio, and artist statement about the piece(s) to fenixartscenter@gmail.com.

Deadline for submissions: April 9, 2023. You will be notified by April 16 of acceptance into the exhibition.

Artworks must arrive at the Fenix Gallery by April 28. If hand delivering, gallery hours are Thursday and Friday 1-5, Saturday 12-6, and Sunday 1-4. The gallery is located in Millar Hall at Mount Sequoyah Center. If you cannot bring your work during regular gallery hours, please contact Laurie Foster (479-530-6023) to make other arrangements.

Guest artist commission split 60/40%.
