Cindy Arsaga lives in Winslow, AR, a short drive south of Fayetteville. She is a studio artist specializing in mixed media and encaustic at 3 East Mountain just off the Fayetteville Square. She and her family own and operate several coffee houses and restaurants in Fayetteville. Their coffee and roastery business has been in operation since 1992. The retail spaces have always been places to show art and promote the local art community.
Cindy says, “I work mainly in mixed media, and often combine encaustic medium with found objects or imagery from my own photographs. Encaustic is a term used for a mixture of beeswax and damar resin, which is heated and applied in a molten state to a receptive surface. Of late I’ve been experimenting with found fabric pieces, altering and adding to them, encasing them in encaustic medium, adding graphics and other objects and arriving at a place that feels to me like sculptural story telling.”
